A safe place

I was talking to Kay’s mom. I told her of the hope and joy I saw in Kay’s eyes today. I told her how Kay expressed she wants to be ok. I explained to Kay’s mom how she can help Kay.

I explained a great gift you can give to any child is to give them a place to “hang your hat.” What do I mean by this?…When the rains come and the storms of life come and you don’t know if you can make it. Well, a place to “hang your hat” helps you get through the tough times of life. You know who you are. You know your talents. You know what makes you happy. You know you can make it because you know who you are, you know you are loved AND this gives you a place in life to hang your hat. It gives you something to hold on to during tuff times.  When the storm comes and the winds are whipping, you have something to hold onto…a safe place. Give your child a safe place, so they will know who they are. This is a great life gift you can give to any child.
